Welcome to our site! My name is Steve Carr and, with my son Jim, I have been a part-time coin dealer for the last five years. This whole venture started out as an adventure and turned into an obsession (a good one!).
More than twenty years ago, my son Jim pestered me in to going to a coin shop. I made one purchase – a holed 1849 U. S. large cent. I was hooked. I wanted to know everything about these cool coins. Over the years, I have learned as much as I could. My numismatic interests have expanded to include all copper and silver early American coins. I also collect Kansas National Bank notes.
About six years ago, I realized I had a double row box of extra large cents. What to do about them? It took about a year, before I decided to try my hand at coin. Again, my son Jim was with me.
For a couple of years, this involved setting up at a local monthly show. The couple of years involved several regional shows. Next year, we plan to set up at a national show.

In the past, I have written columns for Numismatic News and Penny Wise, the journal of the Early American Coppers Club. I plan to post some of these articles – as well as new ones - in the future, so checkout the blogs occasionally. You don’t know what you may find here!
